Nimbus simplifies global mobile data with a focus on speed, reliability, and a polished app experience. Built for frequent travelers and business users, the platform aims to remove the usual friction of physical SIM cards and confusing setup processes with working data in under a minute.
The challenge
Nimbus was an idea on paper - nothing more. No codebase. No design handover. No market research. We started with zero assets, a globally distributed founding team, and an ambitious vision in a crowded, technically complex space. And yet the expectation was clear: world-class experience, fast onboarding, zero activation errors.
What we were walking into:
- No existing product or technical architecture
- No design files, UX wireframes, or working prototypes
- An API partner with an incomplete eSIM provisioning stack
- A founding team new to the telecom space
- Global team distribution across five countries and time zones
- Part-time initial commitment and agile ramp-up
- Expectation of full production delivery with high-end UX.

We knew from day one that Nimbus wasn't looking to compete on price it had to win on experience. For a business traveler landing in Tokyo or New York, there's no room for guesswork.
Our shared goal was to
Build a mobile-first experience backed by a performance-focused website
Deliver one-click SIM activation with secure login (no email/password setup)
Create a clean plan picker for both business and leisure travelers
Strengthen compliance and security to match both Japan and EU regulations (GDPR)
Provide tooling for responsive, one-touch customer support
Architect the backend for future product add-ons and provider flexibility
